Yael Stein Yael Stein, who is Australian and lives in New York City since 2013 She played Lorna Morrello on Orange Is the New Black. Yael has graduated from NIDA. Yael had the good fortune to have the opportunity to work with some of Australia's most renowned storytellers. She has worked behind-the-scenes in film, television as well as theatre. Yael is a well-known actor throughout Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael was delighted to find her new residence when Brooklyn Academy of Music, in which the play was staged with high praise, was the place she now calls New York City. Yael was the co-founder of The Cannery. It's located within Bushwick Brooklyn and works from there to support creative writing, innovative ideas and new work.
